Floor Works, Geneva
European Garden Award 2013
Floor Works in Geneva is a fascinating mix of plants, steel, slate, water and light installations.
On the land of a private investor, Société Privée de Gérance SPG, an urban place has been created in the middle of the city, which corresponds in many ways with the new administrative building of SPG and which, owing to its uniqueness, has found numerous fans and regular visitors. Corten steel bands shape the paths, but are also broken up into sculptures and formed into seats, in between and on which, greenery develops wildly, yet nonetheless following to a composition.
Spray mist enhances the impression of this being an urban jungle, which was conceptualised by the firm AgenceTer (Paris).
