When the qualified argronomist took over the farm, he realized that it would be difficult to survive economically with traditional farming methods. After two periods of work experience in France – in a goat’s cheese dairy and a cheese dairy that processes cow’s and goat’s milk – his decision was clear: with his cow herd and 6 goats to start with, he started his business. Today he has 100 goats and 25 cows and his products are well known way beyond Samern. Customers can buy his Grafschafter cheese in many regional and national farm shops and at the markets in Burgsteinfurt, Nordhorn, and Bad Bentheim. His customers like his products so much that they purchase them regularly via mail order.
Dirk Dennemann has been working with Slow-Food since the year 2000.
If “Muh und Mäh” has made you curious, just find your way to the farm shop and enjoy the cheese.
