Surrounded by urban infrastructure this 40,000 square meter large park is an oasis of peace and calm, a place for the direct experience of contemporary sculptures. It lies in the triangle between Zoobrücke, Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer, and Riehler Straße. Works by Anish Kapoor to Heimo Zobernig can be seen.

The park was brought to life in 1997 by the private initiative of the collectors Dr Michael Stoffel and his wife Dr Eleone Stoffel, and has found great recognition both nationally and internationally in the art world as well as in the wider public. Changing exhibitions present a wide range of modern contemporary open-air sculptures, with seven exhibitions between 1997 and 2013 and accompanying catalogues further consolidating the park’s reputation.

The foundation Skulpturenpark Köln, founded after the deaths of the collectors Mr and Mrs Stoffel sees its duty in securing the future of the sculpture park as an institution but also as a place for artistic dialogue and reflections in this unique symbiosis of nature and art.
